Tribute to Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam |
Bharat Ratna APJ Abdul Kalam, The People's President is no more. He breathed his last yesterday evening while delivering a lecture in IIM, Shillong. He was the real hero of India. The true Gem of India. Born in a poor family in Rameshwaram (October 15, 1931), Tamilnadu, he adorned the highest post, constitutional head in India. He had to sell newspapers as a hawker after school times to support financial needs of his family. However, his talent spoke louder than anything.
He was a scientist (Physicist) and became instrumental to Indian space technology development. India could launch its SLV in his able guidance. However, he is known as missile man of India. Agni, Prithvi, Akash, Nag, and Brahmos missiles have the signature of his talent, leadership quality, and sincerity. The down to earth man conquered the sky.
He had his eyes on the space but do not forget the mighty power of the tiniest particles and became instrumental in developing India as an atomic power. He was the project head of Pokran II. He was awarded "Bharat Ratna", the highest civilian honor of India.
However, this is not the end. Atal Behari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India had the highest degree of honor for APJ Abdul Kalam and the then NDA government proposed his name as the President of India in 2002. Congress and other main opposition parties had no option but to support his name. He was elected for the office of the President of India after token opposition of CPI (M) and few other left parties.
He maintained the highest degree of integrity and simplicity while holding the office of Indian President. He came in President's House only with a suitcase and left the house after five years with the single suitcase. His simplicity has become legend within his life time.
He started inspiring the youth and teaching the students after his retirement as first citizen of India. He was author of 15 high class books and was honored with Doctorate degree by forty universities from all over the world. He motivated students and youth of India and overseas for tireless working to full fill their dreams.
He was unmarried and completely vegetarian. Despite his role as head of the DRDO, he was a peaceful man and had faith in the principles of non-violence. He lived every moment of his life with integrity, sincerity, hard work, and spirituality. He was atrue patriot and true son of mother India. Helived a peaceful life and breathed his last peacefully. He worked hard for whole life and expired while working.
Vardhaman Gems family, along with the whole Nation India mourns in his sad dismisal and pray. May his Soul Rest in Peace. We believe, he will show us path and be our inspiration.
